6th Grade:
This week 6th grade students will conclude their studies on ocean features by learning about human exploration of oceans with submersibles and learning about hydrothermal vent.  They will have a test on Thursday covering Oceans: Importance, Formation, Water, and Features. 

7th Grade:
This week 7th graders will complete the entire Astronomy Unit by finishing their lesson on Tides, and then taking a test on Wednesday covering the Earth-Moon-Sun System.  The students have a study guide for the test.They will begin a new unit - EARTHQUAKES!  Students will begin this unit by watching the NOVA video, The Day the Earth Shook, which is used as the basis of understanding for the lessons in this unit.

6th, 7th & 8th Science


8th Grade:
The 8th grade students will complete their studies on mixtures and pure substances by learning about covalent and ionic compounds, formation of aqueous solutions, acidic and basic solutions, and pH, indicators, and neutralization. They should be studying for a test that they will be taking next week.  They already have their study guide.
